Chinese primary phone vendor, Vivo, has launched three new additions to its S17 series, with a specific focus on portrait photography. The S17 series will now have four models, which are S17, S17 Pro, S17t, and the previously released S17e, all featuring stylish and iconic designs.
The new update comes with a classic ring-shaped light, which will improve portrait performance, particularly at night, as Vivo has promoted.
The three new additions feature a 50-megapixel (MP) selfie camera that works with a dual-LED flash system. Additionally, it has a 50 MP rear camera with an aperture of F1.9 that supports an optical steady system.
The pro model boasts an extra 13 MP telephoto camera that provides 2 times optical zoom.
Apart from this, the new releases also vary in processors: the vanilla version has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Plus. While Mediatek Dimensity 8200, and Mediatek Dimensity 8050 are for the S17 Pro and S17t, respectively.
All models feature a 4,600-mAh battery with an 80 W charging speed, and a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1260 x 2800 pixels.
The vanilla and t models come in three colors - black, pink, and blue, while the pro model replaces pink with silver.
The new S17 additions are up for pre-order and will be available on June 8 in China. Prices will start from 2,499 RMB ($351.99).
Vivo offers three memory combos for the vanilla and pro models, which vary from 256 GB storage plus 8GB RAM to 512 GB storage plus 12 GB RAM. The S17t has only one version that comes with 512 GB storage and 12 GB RAM.
As per customary practice, it is anticipated that a global edition of the Vivo S17 – V29 – may be released towards the end of this year.
