On September 12, local time, at the Wonderlust Autumn release conference, Apple launched the Apple Watch Series 9 and the second generation Apple Watch Ultra, due to the use of S9 SiP chip, The performance has been improved by enabling "two-fingered, two-tap" gestures to interact with the device without touching, and accurate search of the iPhone.

Apple says the S9 chip is 30% faster than the S8 chip and has a quad-core neural engine that can triple the speed of neural tasks. This means Siri requests will be faster, more secure, and dictation 25% more accurate. Siri can also access data in health apps.

Both watches are equipped with second-generation ultra-wideband chips that help users make accurate searches using their iphones.

Another improvement on the Series 9 is a brighter display: Apple says it's up to 2,000 nits bright, which is twice the maximum brightness of the Series 8.

The new Apple Watch also offers a "double tap" function that allows you to tap your index finger and thumb on each other twice to answer a call, open a notification, and play or pause music. This is somewhat similar to what Apple demonstrated with its Vision Pro headset. Apple already offers a similar feature through AssistiveTouch on the Apple Watch. The double-tap feature will be rolled out as part of the October software update.

The new gestures are made possible by a faster neural engine that uses new machine learning algorithms to process data from accelerometers, gyroscopes, and optical heart sensors. When the index finger and thumb double click, the algorithm can detect the unique features of tiny wrist movements and changes in blood flow.

Compared to the original Apple Watch Ultra, the new generation of updates are smaller. In addition to the processor upgrade, the maximum brightness of the display has been increased from 2,000 nits to 3,000 nits, three official band colors have been changed, and a modular super dial has been introduced. The rumored black fuselage did not appear.

Apple touted the Apple Watch's environmental improvements. The company claims that through innovation in materials, clean energy and low-carbon logistics, the Apple Watch has introduced a carbon-neutral watch and band combination. The smaller packaging makes it easier to transport more equipment at once. In addition, the production of the Apple Watch Ultra 2 is 100% carbon neutral.

Apple Watch Series 9 will be available in aluminum in pink, Starlight, silver, midnight and red, while stainless steel versions will be available in gold, silver and graphite.

The watchOS 10 system for both watches will be officially released on September 18.
